Get all three Tolkien Illustrated Editions for $86

  • The Lord of the Rings (Tolkien Illustrated Edition) — $47.49 ($75)
  • The Hobbit (Tolkien Illustrated Edition) — $38 ($75)
  • The Silmarillion (Tolkien Illustrated Edition) — $38.41 ($75)

The Tolkien Illustrated Series is special because all of the full-color illustrations and sketches throughout each book were drawn by the author himself while he penned the manuscripts that would become The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. The illustrations in The Silmarillion were drawn by Tolkien while drafting his exhaustive backstory and lore for the world of Middle-earth. The Silmarillion was published posthumously and is now the first of a 12-part series, The History of Middle-earth, compiled by his son Christopher Tolkien.

The illustrations aren’t the only notable aspects of these editions. Each hardcover comes with a gorgeous dust jacket, sprayed edges with Elvish script, the complete text printed in black and red, a ribbon bookmark, and a pair of removable fold-out maps. Since it compiles all three volumes–Fellowship of the Ring, Two Towers, and Return of the King–The Lord of the Rings Illustrated is by far the largest of the three at 1,248 pages; These editions of The Hobbit and The Silmarillion are 432 pages each.

AMC Will Air Captain Nemo Series That Disney Plus Canceled

After Disney+ did a company-wide budget cut and canceled more than a handful of shows, one of them has found a new home. Variety has reported that The Captain Nemo origin story series Nautilus, named after his fantastical submarine, will sail with AMC Networks.

The 10-episode show was originally slated to air on Disney+, but it was announced back in August that the show was not going forward. Angry Birds Space Review

With more than 700 million downloads to its name, Angry Birds is as much a part of pop culture as the Big Mac, The Beatles, or Justin Bieber. But such popularity poses a problem: how to create a sequel that feels fresh, yet still appeals to avian aficionados around the world. For developer Rovio, the answer is gravity, or rather, the lack of it. Angry Birds Space takes the fundamental physics-based flinging of the original and turns it on its head–sometimes literally–by playing with the gravity simulation that powers it. You’re forced to think in new, creative ways to solve puzzles, using the pull of planets to slingshot your birds over greater distances and at previously impossible angles. It’s satisfying, yet completely familiar, and is heaps of pig-smashing fun.
